A clear vision for Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi
Momentum 2015, our strategic plan, is nearing the end of its designated time. Thus, on May 8, we kicked off Momentum 20/20, a year-long planning process that will involve our internal and external stakeholders in producing our next strategic plan. With the turbulence in higher education and the world, the planning timeframe for this effort will be five years, taking us to 2020. The new plan will be released in May 2014.
The overarching goal that will guide our efforts is:
Become an emerging research university with an unparalleled commitment to every student’s success, closing gaps in achievement and delivering a robust campus experience.
The plan should propose university-wide goals and actions that cut across colleges, schools, and administrative unit boundaries, champion big ideas that take greater advantage of our distributed strengths, and promote avenues for global impact, creativity and innovation in an ever changing higher education environment.
President Killebrew has appointed nine theme groups composed of faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members that will examine undergraduate education, graduate education, research & creative activity, service to community and state, and efficiency and effectiveness in the context of the theme area and the overarching goal. Each group will have a facilitator, a faculty co-chair and a staff co-chair.
